It definitely has been a process. Both in expressing who I am as a gay man, expressing myself through nude portraiture and documenting the more private parts of our relationship. I had envisioned myself being more free but the constraints of how I was raised always kept me from posting things publicly. I have always taken nude self portraits and expressed myself through that medium… I just never shared them. When Mark and I started dating it was really hard for me to see him post the things he did and, in fact, he stopped all together for a period of time. The first uncensored image I’ve ever posted is the first image on this blog. Mark and I had thought to make this blog ages before it actually came to being and it took us a while to write and see it to fruition. It was liberating and fun. I’m proud of who I am. And I’m proud to have the partnership I have with Mark. He’s my soulmate.
